June: Bees go to school
We got to attend the West Nature Grove opening ceremony. We are proud to be a partner in this teaching apiary at Lincoln Land Community College.

July: A meeting of hives
Quincy hosted the Annual Summer Conference of the Illinois State Beekeepers’ Association, and it was fantastic. We got to inaugurate our Queen Bee Competition and promote locally raised queens.
We had an absolute blast, great food, and Mississippi Valley Beekeepers were wonderful hosts!
August: Harvest Time
We’ve been pulling honey supers and learned to cut comb. it’s amazing when you get up close and personal with the honey comb. The pieces that fail to meet our standards still make a tasty snack.
